Dr. Prabir Kumar Bandyopadhyay
Dr. Prabir Kumar Bandyopadhyay started his career with
Century Spinning and Weaving Manufacturing Company, Mumbai as a Jr.
Assistant where he worked for three years. Thereafter he joined National
Productivity Council (NPC) with fully imbibing NPC's mission of promoting
cause of productivity for various sectors of economy with a missionary zeal.
During his two decades of service with NPC as a Consultant-cum-Trainer he
has played a key role in several orgaisations with regard to improving
productivity and implementing Quality Circle, Total Quality Management, TPM,
ISO 9000, ISO 14000, KAIZEN, Six sigma, etc. Subsequently he switched over
to academics and aught in ICFAI Business School, Ahmedabad, KIIT School of
Management, Bhubaneswar and Goa Institute of Management, Goa and Symbiosis
Institute of Business Management, Pune (Contd.). He was with Balasore Alloys
Limited, Balasore (An Ispat Group of Company) as Head of Consulting and New
Initiatives and also worked with Hindusthan National Glass Industries
Limited, Rishra as General Manager (Systems).
He has guided several PhD scholars in different areas including Marketing,
Social science, Transportation, Operation Management, Health care. He was a
visiting professor at Telecom Ecole De Management Telecom School of
Management, France. He has conducted several collaborative research projects
with renowned academician from USA, UK, South Korea, Denmark.
Dr. Bandyopadhyay has a B.Sc (Technology) in Textile Technology from College
of Textile Technology, Serampore and a P.G.D.I.E from TIPIE, NPC (Presently
known as Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Productivity) and a PhD from Jadavpur
University. His PhD Thesis was Risk Assessment in Process Industries where
he had used Fuzzy Logic based Multi Criteria Decision Making Model.
He is a qualified lead Auditor in ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 and
also a qualified Business Excellence Model assessor and Six sigma Black Belt
holder, Certified Business Analytics Professional and a Professional Member
of Centre for Evidence Based Management (CEBMa, Netherlands). He holds
Certification of completion of all modules of conduct an Intervention Review
by COCHRANE, London, UK.
He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), a life member of Indian
Statistical Institute
He was invited as a Jury Committee member for the "Sultan Qaboos Award for
Industrial Excellence 2015" by the Ministry of Commerce, Sultanate of Oman.
